A Revolta do Inquisidor
Durante os séculos XV, XVI e XVII, o Tribunal da Inquisição perseguiu e condenou inúmeros acadêmicos, cientistas e filósofos que publicaram obras de teor revolucionário no campo da ciência e da religião. Mas se por um lado a poderosa instituição tentava conter a onda das novas ideias, algumas pessoas trabalharam em segredo justamente para que a essência dessas ideias não se perdesse nas chamas da inquisição. Em Florença no ano de 1664, o inquisidor Tommaso inicia sua busca por alguns destes documentos. Arrependido pela sua enorme contribuição ao Tribunal da Inquisição, Tommaso e seu assistente Giancarlo correm contra o tempo para recuperar os arquivos. Agora o inquisidor é procurado pela própria Igreja e conta com a ajuda de amigos para concluir sua missão. O autor descreve com realismo as cidades, cenários, comportamentos e personagens da época, fazendo com que o leitor volte ao século XVII e participe de uma empolgante aventura.
During the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Inquisition Court persecuted and convicted countless academics, scientists and philosophers who published revolutionary works in the field of science and religion. But if, on one hand, the powerful institution tried to contain the tide of new ideas, some people worked in secret just so that the essence of these ideas would not be lost in the flames of the inquisition. In Florence in the year 1664, the inquisitor Tommaso begins his search for some of these documents. Repentant for his enormous contribution to the Inquisition Court, Tommaso and his assistant Giancarlo run counter to the time to retrieve the archives. Now the inquisitor is sought by the Church itself and has the help of friends to complete its mission. The author describes with realism the cities, scenarios, behaviors and characters of the time, making the reader return to the seventeenth century and participate in an exciting adventure.
